Our Team Members
Brenda was born and raised in the Vancouver/Burnaby area, and has worked at BCPH for 30 years! Brenda has a cat named Fat Zoe who is 10 years old, and who thinks the world revolves around her. When she isn’t working, she enjoys travelling with her husband, Rob; along the way they have found a second home in sunny Arizona! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her nephews, drinking chai tea lattes, and reading when she gets a spare moment.
Kara was born and raised in beautiful North Vancouver, and has been part of the team since summer 2013. In her free time Kara enjoys playing guitar and drums, hiking the trails around her Lynn Valley home, and spending time at her cabin on Vancouver Island. Kara is unfortunately unable to have cats or dogs at her current home, so she loves being able to spend time with animals everyday at work. She has spent countless hours volunteering at Maplewood Farm, animal shelters, and veterinary clinics, where she enjoys caring for animals of all shapes and sizes.
Christine joined us in the summer of 2014, and is one of our resident Registered Animal Health Technicians. Christine has been in the veterinary industry for 12 years, and has a passion for providing excellent care for pets. Her special interests include anesthesia, dentistry, and pain management. She shares her home with her awesome cat Jack. In her free time she loves to ride her bike or go for a long run around East Vancouver.
Jenny was born and raised in New Westminster and started here in August of 2015. Jenny is a very busy lady! When she isn’t working at Blue Cross she can be found at her part-time job at the Richmond Animal Protection Society. On her days off Jenny enjoys hiking with her boyfriend and Border Terrier Mix, Houdini, or escaping to her family’s cabin in Tulameen, B.C. She is very excited to be joining our team after completing the Veterinary Office Assistant Course at Douglas College.
Meet Lani, the newest member of our team! Lani grew up on an apple orchard in the Okanagan with her many cats and dogs. She started in the veterinary industry over 10 years ago, working primarily with horses. Since then, Lani has moved to Vancouver, Edmonton, and back again, focusing her work on small animal care. Lani enjoys yoga, a bit of watercolour painting, as well as playing golf and biking with her husband. She happily lives on the North Shore with their two orange tabby cats, Fat Tony and Ariel.
